Cangkuang (Pandanus Furcatus)

Pandanus trees were a variety of types. One of them is Pandanus Furcatus or often called Pandan Antunu (Toba Batak), Pandan Lais (Bangka, Rungku (Palembang), Bangkuwang (Malays), Pandan Kowang (Java) and Cangkuang (Sunda).

According to the story and the Temple Village Name Cangkuang famous tourist attractions in Garut (West Java) comes from the name of the tree Cangkuang contained therein.
Cangkuang leaves are often used as an ingredient to make the hood, mats and palm sugar wrappers. The fruit was also eaten delicious sweet taste when ripe.
This tree also includes rare and not cultivated people because maybe less economical. For hobbyists this tree is also interesting to collection because quite rare and unique fruit and as a gift to our children and grandchildren later they are still able to recognize Cangkuang tree.
